..::” Karen Bentley’s inspiring book, The Power to Stop, is just that: inspiring. What does the word inspiring mean? It implies that this is a book that shows a path to connection with Spirit. It is a book that tells me that without connecting to Spirit, without welcoming the Love within, there is no way to be free from limiting beliefs and self-sabotaging behavior.
Karen Bentley’s life story is a demonstration of the fact that spirit heals. Ms. Bentley’s book gives the reader not only the blueprint for the journey to joy, it lays out the blueprint with infectious passion. If there be a healing message, what heals more than anything else is the sheet conviction of the one who delivers the message. It is conviction that jumps off every page of The Power to Stop. It is conviction which infuses every line with certainty. This conviction is the result of Knowing. Knowing is the result of deep introspection and the removal of barriers to Love. The only way to heal is to remove the barriers I have erected against Love.
In The Power to Stop, Karen Bentley brilliantly lays out a joyful and inspiring “how to.” Has she herself removed all barriers? No. She does not claim to be enlightened. She makes no claim of Guru status. She very lovingly suggests that she is on the path with you and that she Knows this path is transforming her life as it will yours. She has no doubt. And knowing this work and knowing the passion Karen brings to this work I, too, have no doubt. Anyone who struggles with substance issues, anyone who uses food to punish himself, anyone whose self-sabotage prevents the experience of true joy, peace and love, will find that The Power to Stop is truly a gem. You have this little book in your hands now . . . make the decision. You can do it and, more importantly, you are worth it!

..::” Simply put, “the ego is not the Self.” Thinking that something which is not of God can have power over us, leads us down an unpleasant path of despair. Karen Bentley’s new book, The Power to Stop is a potent tool in helping us to bring an end to insane ego thinking, choose once again and follow God’s plan for salvation.

..::” I love Karen Bentley. She glows. I am personally inspired by her beautiful example in helping people to access their power to stop any addictive behavior. This book is a miracle. Karen is upbeat, and this book is written in a fun way that really encouraged me to stick with the 30-day program. This book is a guide that can help anyone stop any out-of-control behavior, with some very simple practical tools to clear out the clutter in your head, in your life (and probably your fridge and cupboards, too.) This is a beautiful book that can change your life.

..::"How much carbon are we putting into the Ocean?
...about 100 U.S. TONS -- into the Ocean.. every SECOND.
..::"Carbon absorption can initiate a feedback loop in which underoxygenated waters breed different kinds of microbes that turn the water still more “anoxic,” first in deep ocean “dead zones,” then gradually up toward the surface.
There, the small fish die out, unable to breathe, which means oxygen-eating bacteria thrive, and the feedback loop doubles back. This process, in which dead zones grow like cancers, choking off marine life and wiping out fisheries, is already quite advanced in parts of the Gulf of Mexico and just off Namibia, where hydrogen sulfide is bubbling out of the sea along a thousand-mile stretch of land known as the “Skeleton Coast.”
Hydrogen sulfide is also the thing that finally did us in that time 97 percent of all life on Earth died, once all the feedback loops had been triggered and the circulating jet streams of a warmed ocean ground to a halt. Gradually, the ocean’s dead zones spread, killing off marine species that had dominated the oceans for hundreds of millions of years, and the gas the inert waters gave off into the atmosphere poisoned everything on land. Plants, too.
How, in the EU, fossil fuel is fuelling its own death spiral.
Yet another reason for the doom of Europe’s
fossil-fuel power plants: not enough water.
Water is used in thermal power plants—including coal, natural gas, oil, and nuclear—to cool the steam that drives turbines. (The water used to create steam is recycled.) These power plants use a lot of water for cooling — more than half of all water withdrawn from natural sources in Europe, according to Paul Behrens, assistant professor at Leiden University.
Reef corals are declining worldwide. Climate change, especially in relation to the recent mass bleaching and death of corals along the northern Great Barrier Reef and throughout the Pacific. Up to now, the destructive impacts of climate change on reefs have been much less than the localized effects of overfishing, land-based pollution, and loss of habitats due to coastal development. We need to stop all forms of overfishing, establish very large marine protected areas, and impose strict regulations on development and pollution while at the same time working to reduce the use of fossil fuels. It's not either/or, but all of the above.
..::"The scale of effort required to "buffer" the OCEAN’S ACIDITY is mind-boggling...
The annual mass of the compounds required is about an order of magnitude more than the 2 GIGATONS OF CARBON absorbed by oceans each YEAR, says Ken Caldeira of the Carnegie Institution of Washington.
That works out to about 30 cubic kilometers of limestone per year, he says. According to WHOI, that is 30 times the amount of limestone mined each year for cement production and all other purposes. That material would somehow need to be distributed more or less evenly throughout the oceans.
"Eco-alarm-bells" would be ringing... if big oil had not silenced the media... and we humans are easily tempted to living "comfortably" in denial... similar to that famous frog experiment... demonstrating that a living frog... will actually let itself slowly boil to death... if the temperature is raised to a boil very gradually... and in a similar way, we humans just don't seem to respond, until the alarm clock is buzzing LOUDLY... and even then we are tempted to hit the "snooze" button 🙂
If we think the government will solve the problems we face today... just remember the government could not even cap the BP Gulf oil spill, until it ran dry...

To an economist, business "seems" to make the world-go-round.... and this planet will certainly "go-around" with us or without us... trillions of dead planets spin perfectly, without Life... the question we face today is whether or not there is enough courage in the Life on this planet to protect life for future generations... does anyone really think this journey to infinity and beyond is just to store some cash in a bank?...
As we contemplate our relationship with nature... realizing nature is always sharing all, with all... like the seeds giving birth to the trees... leaves giving everyone fresh air... and later the leaves fall back to the Earth to continue flowing in Nature's endless eco-cycle... nothing is left out of the cycle... rivers become oceans, become clouds, and become rivers again... we all share in this eco-cycle... http://EcoDelMar.org/one_flower/
If we, supposedly intelligent humans, destroy the source of so much Life in the Universe.... the question is not will we survive... but should we... Can we learn to respect Life in Our Living Oceans before we destroy so many living creatures that have lived for millions of years, long before humans arrived to walk upright on land. Are we so arrogant as to carelessly destroy our shared Ocean Home... Do we realize our origins are so much more likely Aquatic than we ever dreamed... EcoDelMar.org/elaine ... Rocks were formed in fire... and when struck together, give fire... the Oceans give Life Itself... and while we have this Gift... dare we stand Lifeless... allowing the destruction of our Aquatic Life Base... with apathetic heads bowed down to industrial profiteers... who will later tell us they were the "successful" ones... http://EcoDelMar.org

Peatlands, also known as bogs and moors, are the earliest stage in the formation of coal. A 2015 study noted, “Globally, the amount of carbon stored in peats exceeds that stored in vegetation and is similar in size to the current atmospheric carbon pool.”
Peat fires are difficult to stop, often burning until all the organic matter has turned to ash. A coauthor of the 2015 study noted, “Smouldering peat fires already are the largest fires on Earth in terms of their carbon footprint.”
Thousands of acres of permafrost are burning in what appears to be Greenland’s biggest fire on record. And climate scientists are concerned, not just because the massive fires are unusual, but because they release large amounts of greenhouse gases and speed up the melt of the ice sheet and the carbon-rich permafrost.
Greenland is almost entirely covered in an enormous ice sheet, but grassy, carbon-rich peatlands along the coast are heating up and drying out. “These fires appear to be peatland fires,” wildfire expert Prof. Jessica L. McCarty told Wildfire Today. “They are likely occurring in areas of degraded permafrost, which are predicted to have high thaw rates.”
..::"Where Whales are still somewhat numerous — like the Southern Ocean — the whale pump, as it’s known, spreads nitrogen and binds up carbon in an environmentally substantial way. However, with the severe decline of whales worldwide, due to commercial over-hunting — along with the exponentially worsening acidification of our Oceans — the marine ecosystem has suffered a steep tip in its delicate balance. Whales are the Guardians of our precious Oceans, and their poaching only speeds up the impending Ocean acidification. Certainly, whales may not be able to single-handedly solve the problem of our dying Oceans, but these giant mammals have a significant impact on CO2 binding that helps us all to breathe oxygen. Where Whales are gathered in number, there will be healthy photo-synthesizing plankton. The Oceans produce over half the oxygen on Earth. Every other breath you breathe, comes from the phyto-plankton in the Ocean.

Prenatal exposure to organochlorine chemicals linked to autism in children...
According to the research, children born after being exposed to the highest levels of certain compounds of the chemicals, called organochlorine chemicals, during their mother's pregnancy were roughly 80 percent more likely to be diagnosed with autism.
It was determined that two compounds in particular -- PCB 138/158 and PCB 153 -- stood out as being significantly linked with autism risk. Children with the highest in utero levels (exposure during their mother's pregnancy) of these two forms of PCBs were between 79 and 82 percent more likely to have an autism diagnosis.

Silently, billions of bees are dying off and our entire food chain is in danger. Bees don't just make honey -- they are a giant, humble workforce, pollinating 75% of growing plants. But in five days the US could move to ban the toxic pesticides that are killing them off.
We know we can get a ban -- after a mega Avaaz campaign last year, the EU banned this group of poisons that multiple scientists blame for bees' rapid demise. Right now chemical companies are furiously lobbying US authorities to stop action. But insider allies say a massive public mandate could tip the scales towards a ban. Let's give it to them! If the US moves, it will set in motion a ripple effect on the rest of the world.
We have no time to lose -- members of the White House's bee task force will report with proposals on Tuesday. Already 2.5 million of us have backed this campaign. Let's race to send messages to the heads of the task force before Tuesday's meeting. This is not just about saving bees, this is about our survival. Click to send a message now:

"No one can give you freedom but you.

"The Way It Is" by Bruce Hornsby
This song deals with the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. The line in the lyrics that mentions "The law passed in '64" is the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The law was supposed to prohibit discrimination in public places, the government and employment.
The lyrics in this song deal with the need to resist complacency and never resign yourself to racial injustice as the status quo.
The song portrays 1980s America from a critical perspective. The opening verse recounts a story taking place at a line for welfare that illustrate a divide between the rich and poor. The chorus presents several lines insisting that social ills are "just the way it is", and repeatedly suggests resigning oneself to them as a fact of life—however, the chorus ends with the author rebuking this attitude by insisting "ah, but don't you believe them."
The second verse recounts past social issues from the voice of someone supporting racial segregation. The author responds in a narrative voice, insisting his view that if those who make laws took them into careful consideration they would be convinced that laws enforcing principles like racial segregation are morally wrong. The song reminds the listener that it was at one time argued that racial segregation was "just the way it is", and suggests that legislation and what the author views as progress on current social issues should be pursued without regard to those who insist "some things will never change."
The third verse recounts the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as a victory in the civil rights movement, but insists that more is needed. The third chorus suggests that it only feels like "some things will never change" when we wait for social problems to change themselves rather than taking steps ourselves to actively change them.
