Welcome to the Western Pacific Fishery Management Council's Fish Forever podcast about sustainable fishing through effective stewardship in the US Pacific Islands. In this episode we learn about a bottomfish tagging project being conducted in Hawaii that is contributing to our knowledge of these elusive but tasty fish. During their lifetime bottomfish inhabit different areas of the ocean. Larval and juvenile bottomfish move from near shore reef areas to deeper areas including deep slope reefs. Understanding more about the fish and other organisms that inhabit both the shallow water and deep slope reefs will allow us to better manage and protect these valuable resources.
