Apr 3, 2011 - I noticed the video the day before you posted was day 120 and now its 150. What is it? Hahaha

Tyler Johnson Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - I just want to see the growth from that many days apart. I'm sure you wrote them write

kevinrsp Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - Yeah, I'm having to tell everyone that I did the impossible and accidentally deleted ALL my original videos. So I'm having to re-upload all of them. Thanks

kevinrsp Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - I don't understand this comment. Please elaborate.

Tyler Johnson Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - Dude this video rocks

kevinrsp Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - Thanks man.

Tyler Johnson Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - So do you recommend weekly water change out or do you do them like once a month? I dose and just do water changes outs like once a month. Do you think this is smart?

kevinrsp Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - It depends on a lot of things like feeding, type of skimmer, water volume, live stock etc. It's best to do it once a week, and I would say no less than every two weeks. But it just really depends. And I also dose about every other day or so (B-ionic).

Tyler Johnson Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - I agree. Here is the thing. I've kept checking my nitrates and went almost two and a half months and the paramenters stayed at zero. Is this normal? Or is it the trace elements in the salt that is needed because of the trace elements in it?

kevinrsp Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - Yeah, the trace elements are very important, but you say you're dosing, that should be adequate. But yeah, I'd say just keep a check on your perimeters like you're doing.

Tyler Johnson Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - Sweet I agree too. Ill do that. I have the same thing going on in my freshwater cichlid room. I just keep a top off going and everything else just takes place. It runs off my ro waste water. Which works great because my cichlids like hard water. But yeah anyway I've ran it this way for 6 months with no water change out and my paramenters have never gone above 10ppm (freshwater) so it all worth the try a limited maintence

kevinrsp Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - That's cool. Good setup idea! I need to make use of my ro waste water too. My city water already has 0 phosphates, so maybe I'll consider your idea on using it.

Tyler Johnson Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - Heck ya that would be awesome. You should consider starting a garden running on aqua ponics and yeild some food. Hahaha. I'm starting to get into it. Just trying different things out. But I find a lot of enjoyment out of growing food off of my own ecosystem.

kevinrsp Says:

Apr 3, 2011 - Yeah, I grew some tomatoes a couple years back, they were the BEST! Wait, do fish like tomatoes? 'Cause I think we got a little off topic. lol
