Jan 11, 2010 - hey P, the SeaSwirls are considerably less expensive and do not require a Brainiack to Program them.

ZurichONE95 Says:

Jan 11, 2010 - LOVE THE SYSTEM!!!!!!!! but I would have picked a spot INSIDE my house, not my dusty garage. :)

Jan 11, 2010 - hey jim i dont seem to sound like a total jerk but what kind of place is that for a fancy aquarium like that it looks like a garage. again im not bashing on it or anything.

Jan 12, 2010 - Hey Jim, Why the chiller in a place with such a cold climate. couldnt you regulate the tempature with heater instead.

lafishguy Says:

Jan 12, 2010 - hey C, i dont question where they want the tank, besides thats where all his animals and toys are.

lafishguy Says:

Jan 12, 2010 - hey G, the system has heaters for the cold and a chiller to deal with the heat from the three 250 MH bulbs.

Jan 12, 2010 - JIm where is episode 78 part 3? I wish I want to go to LA to see the snow but in my place it is raining alot but are those two return power heads I mean those white pipes with the black thing are expensive and is it hard to do the sump right? can I use a sump bucket for my 36 gallon reef tanks should that be fine? does the sump helps corals to grow or just the light?

AridSea Says:

Jan 13, 2010 - I was thinking WHY TEH HECK IZ IT GARAGE until you mentioned it. Yeah, exactly, all of his animals were there, and aquariums are fun, too!!! Also, this summer I went to Jackson hole (camped in Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Montanan and by Mount Rushmore. Its amazing. It was so green, we were there on a rainy day, looked like Ireland except for the huge mountains. :D

grasseatersgetate Says:

Jan 16, 2010 - That makes perfect sense. thanks again Jim.

Jan 25, 2010 - heyy i have a 100 gallon reef tank and i have a canopy and want to get retro fitt lighting what do you recomend i wanna keep mixxed corals i have hered of t5 or metal halide ? what do you recomed i wanna sped max 400 or 500?

lafishguy Says:

Jan 26, 2010 - hey B, there is a big difference in the 'look', the color and the heat produced by both style of lights. the T5's are shallow and will fit most standard canopies, the MH will require a taller canopy

ballerbrian4u Says:

Jan 26, 2010 - my canopy is 12 inches so what do u perfer i realy need help metal halide vs t5 witch one is better

lafishguy Says:

Jan 26, 2010 - hey B, there is quite a bit of difference between the two style lights. I like metal halide, but you should do more research.

lafishguy Says:

Apr 29, 2010 - hey B, i dont recall specifically but I think it was around $750

May 16, 2010 - with such a beautiful home, I'm wondering why they would want the tank set up in a garage...

musicisthesoul27 Says:

Nov 7, 2010 - I want your house!

kevinbeatzeus Says:

Dec 28, 2010 - KC? not sure about your choice of teams. However, you do an awesome job with fish tanks!

William Baxter Says:

Jan 10, 2011 - chiller on a reef in wyoming, wut a waste of money. chillers are types of systems that are questionable, like uv sterilizers. i have a 55g reef with two 250 watt halides and four 54 watt atinics and the water stays between 76 and 79 degrees with ease. all u really need is a fan, imo. chillers r too pricey, id rather have sea swirls ;-)

moneymarkj Says:

Jan 22, 2012 - Hey Jim, how is this tank doing?

lafishguy Says:

Jan 22, 2012 - hey M, no idea. they started taking advise from someone eles and I have not heard from them in months.

Apr 22, 2012 - jim let me send u a chargers jacket......
